Fiscal Differences in Energy Policy

June 30 - An article in Fortune published this morning outlines some of the differences between the energy policies of the two major candidates. From a fiscal perspective, the biggest difference lies in John McCain's decision to give away, rather than auction, at least some pollution permits, as compared to Obama's pledge to auction 100% of his permits. In other words, the article points out:

"[McCain] hasn't made clear exactly how much money he would raise and when that might happen - it could be years."
